Congratulations to our client Cheltenham Township. On May 7, 2019, the historic Curtis Hall and Arboretum re-opened after extensive renovations to the 116-year old Curtis Hall and the surrounding grounds. The renovations are a result of a partnership between Cheltenham Township and Jeffrey A. Miller Catering. Curtis Hall is now a premiere wedding venue in Montgomery County. As the Township Engineer, Boucher & James, Inc. assisted Cheltenham Township with the design, permitting, and construction of a 100-space parking lot, new public sanitary sewer connection, pedestrian walkways, landscaping, and stormwater BMPs in accordance with the current PADEP standards. Boucher & James, Inc. also assisted with storm drainage improvements around the building and the underground extension of an upgraded electrical system. The building improvements which began in Fall of 2018, include renovation of the ballroom, an expansion to the courtyard which was covered with a climate-controlled tent that seats up to 200 guests, updated restrooms, a bride suite and a lounge area with a bar for the groomsman. Jeffrey A. Miller Catering also extensively updated the landscaping and patio/grounds around the building. Boucher & James, Inc. obtained permits for the site work and provided Design, Landscape Architecture, Surveying and Construction Management services for the project. We monitored the site work to ensure the construction was completed on time and budget and in accordance with the Approved Plan.
